If that's the team you've been looking for, we think you'll fit right in.

your creativity, your energy, your heart.

Our Why

I used to sit in my car until the last possible second before walking into work.

When I first hired my first stylist, Abbey, I found out I wasn't alone in that. And honestly? That's pretty messed up.

I loved my clients. I loved doing hair. So why was I dreading walking through the door? The answer was the environment. I'd worked in salons that felt stiff, competitive, and quietly unwelcoming and I felt it as a stylist. I watched clients feel it too. That low hum of tension that even the blow dryers can't drown out.

When I first entered cosmetology school, I imagined meeting women who were eager to create, not just physical beauty, but to bring out others internal beauty too. Women who genuinely wanted to lift each other up and grow together. I wanted to work somewhere that felt like that.

When I couldn't find it, I built it.

Do's & Dye is a place where you exhale the second you walk through the door. You don't need a warm-up period to feel like you belong. You'll know instantly that you've found your people. We're here for the artists who value honesty, loyalty, ambition, self-awareness, kindness, and real growth. That's the standard we hold and the culture we protect every single day.

What Working at Do’s & Dye Actually Looks Like

Income that reflects your skill. In-salon stylists start at 40% commission on a premium book. You'll be doing specialized work for clients who value it, with a leader who teaches you how to build a schedule that earns. Your take-home reflects all of it. Bridal stylists and makeup artists start at 60% of services, with 100% of travel and gratuity.

Education that doesn't stop. Free monthly in-salon education, so your craft keeps moving forward — no hunting for it on your own time, no paying out of pocket.

A team that has your back. We cover each other. We root for each other. We don't hoard clients or protect territory. The rising tide lifts everyone here.

Structure without micromanagement. Julie has done your job. She knows exactly where the hard parts are — and she genuinely loves helping her team navigate around the mistakes she already made so you don't have to. You'll get real support, honest feedback, and a leader who is excited to share everything she knows to help you grow faster than you would anywhere else.

A client base that matches your standard. Our clients are the kind who refer their friends, come back every 8 weeks, and write reviews that make your work look exactly as good as it is.

“I’m so grateful to be a part of a group that values both personal and professional growth in such a positive and inspiring environment.”

-Lindsay

“It feels like being part of a second home where everyone wants to see you succeed. It’s a place where hard work and fun manage to exist in the same room.”

-Tracey

Leaving somewhere familiar is scary, even when it isn't working anymore. It takes trusting your gut enough to take the leap. Comfortable and good aren't the same thing, and you don't have to keep settling for one when you could have the other.

For the experienced stylist

You've built something real. We see you.

Path A

I work at a commission salon

You've put in real years behind the chair. You're good at what you do and you know it. But somewhere along the way the place you're working stopped feeling worth it. Maybe it's the culture. Maybe it's the ceiling. Maybe you've just outgrown it. Whatever it is, we want you to know: it doesn't have to be like this.

Sound familiar?

An environment that feels more competitive than collaborative
Gossip, ego, or being quietly pitted against your coworkers for clients
Management that manages but doesn't actually lead
A floor that feels chaotic, tense, or just consistently off

Reality TV is a great guilty pleasure. It shouldn't feel like your workplace.

Not every salon runs on ego and competition. Some of them are actually calm. The kind of calm where a full floor of stylists and clients can settle into a comfortable rhythm, where the hum of the dryers fills a room that doesn't need noise to feel alive. Where you walk in and feel it immediately, the ease between coworkers, the genuine happiness to see the clients you're spending your day with. That's what we've built at Do's and Dye, and it's consistent enough that people notice it the moment they walk through the door.

What's different here

A leader who sets the standard by showing up for every part of it. Owner, yes. But also the first one to assist, to clean up, to do whatever the moment calls for. No job is beneath anyone here, starting at the top.
A team that actually works like one. We observe, we adjust, we step in before we're asked. The kind of support that only exists when people genuinely want each other to have a good day.
Flexibility that respects your life. Set your regular hours around what works for you, and take the time off you need, no guilt, no limit.
A strong foundation to build on. Our stylists are already at capacity and new clients come to us consistently. If you're looking for a place where you can actually grow a full, thriving book, this is it.
Education on your terms. Want to go deeper in a particular technique or elevate a specific skill? We make space for focused, meaningful training in the areas that matter most to you.

Freedom first. Always.

You're not walking into micromanagement. You're walking into trust. Monthly team meetings and 1:1 empowerment meetings keep us connected on your personal and professional goals, but how you get there is up to you. Just like we customize every client experience, we do the same for our team. There's no one-size-fits-all here. We collaborate with you to find the ways you feel most supported, so you can show up, do your best work, and actually enjoy doing it.

Path B

I rent a chair or run my own suite

You went out on your own for the freedom. And you got it. But freedom came with a second job nobody mentioned: the overhead, the marketing, the taxes, the slow weeks where you're still paying rent. Somehow you became a business owner, accountant, and social media manager too, and maybe you don't even know you're drowning in it all, because you haven't had time to stop and check if you can still breathe.

Sound familiar?

Stress around paying the same rent whether you're slammed, slow, or on vacation
Handling your own marketing, booking, taxes, and inventory
Missing a real team without wanting to risk a bad environment again
Wishing you could just focus on creating beautiful hair, pampering your clients, and actually letting the end of your day be the end of your work

What you get back

Your focus back. No more splitting your time between the chair and everything else that comes with running a business. Just beautiful hair, happy clients, and a day that actually ends when you leave.
A team behind you. Someone to shampoo your client while you eat, to offer a hand when you're running behind, to have your back on a hard day without you having to ask.
A sick day that's just a sick day, not a rebooking marathon followed by an anxiety spiral about how slammed your schedule is going to be when you're back.
The vibe you went independent to find, without carrying it all alone.

Let's take a real look at the numbers.

Working for yourself doesn't mean you get to keep all of it. It means you earn every dollar twice: once behind the chair, and again in all the hours spent on everything that has nothing to do with hair. Commission starts looking pretty different when you actually do the math. Especially at a salon that's actively invested in growing your earning potential, through thoughtful price increases, elevating your client experience, and building the kind of book people are genuinely excited to be a part of.

Here's a thought experiment worth sitting with: if you split yourself in two, the salon owner and the stylist, what percentage would the stylist actually take home after the owner collects her share of the overhead? Most renters have never run that number, and it's eye-opening when you do.

As someone who rented a chair for the bulk of my 17-year career as a stylist, I know exactly how easy it is to feel the money coming in and assume you're ahead. It wasn't until years in that I got truly clear on my numbers, and that clarity changed everything. Helping my team understand their finances, and actually grow within them, is one of the ways I'm most invested in their success.

We'd love to sit down together, get down to the facts, and show you what kind of potential is actually ahead of you.

You already know what you're doing. We're just here to make sure it shows.

You're not coming in to be retrained or redirected. You've been doing this for years and you're good at it. What we offer is the part you've been missing: no more spending extra time on social media to keep demand up and bring in new clients, the business side handled, and a team that's genuinely in your corner. We're here to take the load off, cheer you on, and help you get to the next level so you can spend your energy on the part you actually love.

Apply as a stylist

Do's & Dye started as a one-woman show in January 2021 with a simple goal: create a space where people feel comfortable, cared for, and truly seen. Today we’re a full-service salon and bridal team of 21 artists and that goal hasn't changed.

Our floor stays small and quiet by design, usually no more than 4 to 5 people working at once. If you've ever been somewhere that felt chaotic because too many people were doing too much at once, you'll understand immediately why we built it this way.

Our bridal artists work independently on wedding days, which keeps that same intimate rhythm intact for the daily team but offers incredible growth potential for our stylists. The energy here is warm, collaborative, and genuinely easy to be in. We support each other, celebrate each other's wins, and take real pride in delivering for our clients without ego or competition.

How We’re Built

The calm is a structure we protect.

ESTABLISHED

We're not looking for stylists who want a job.

We're looking for the kind of artist who's already committed. The one who shows up prepared, watches education on her day off, reads the room and offers a helping hand, and builds real relationships with clients that go way beyond the chair.

You care deeply about the experience you create. You anticipate what your client needs before she asks, and you take real pride in the details not because someone's watching, but because that's just who you are. You own your work, including the hard days. You communicate openly, follow through, and when something goes sideways you fix it instead of deflecting it.

You're ambitious, genuinely hungry to grow, and you understand that the best growth happens in a community that's all-in together. You share what you know. You celebrate other people's wins like they're your own. You bring warmth and positivity into the room because you actually mean it, not because it's on a list somewhere.

And you're ready to do your best work somewhere that's actually built to support it.

Who We’re Looking For

You're probably a great fit if you:

  • Have 2+ years of salon experience

  • Have a passion for blonding and dimensional color

  • Are calm, professional, and self-aware

  • Communicate consistently and show up the same way

  • Understand the experience goes beyond your chair

  • Want to be part of something bigger
